Got the ‘vette started today and adjusted the timing.
Forgot to take a picture while she was out unfortunately .
Timing was at 10 degrees BTDC and should have been at 4...no wonder she was knocking on hard acceleration last time she was out.
Also found the water pump to be making noise so that probably needs to get replaced soon. And she has a small miss, I’m hoping is the spark plugs. I’ve been meaning to do them since they are most likely 40 years old.
Oh and one more thing, I figured out why the battery died on me the last time she was out. The plug going to the alternator had fallen out and seems to be falling apart. Anyone know a good place to find replacement plugs like that?

Yea I love it. Unfortunately it’s 40 years old and paint on these fiberglass bodies only hold up for 20 years or so generally. Up close there are tons of chips and cracks :(
Once I get around to it though I want to find a shop that can replicate the paint job

Nice!
By ‘the plug to the alternator’ do you mean the little quare plastic one with two wires? That’s a pretty common GM part, I’d be surprised if NAPA or Autozone or whatever did have it/
could get it. Otherwise I’m sure ebay is full of them.

That’s the one. I’ll have to check NAPA then and see

Nice. I woke the boat up from hibernation today, although it had only been hibernating since the end of October.
